Love Letters From the Trenches
There are more letters in the news and how I would love to read them. A stash of World War I letters have been found. They were written by a young Irish soldier, Brian Boyd to his friend then sweetheart, Lily. The letters were found after Lily's passing. She was 96. Her family never knew of these letters and they have been returned to Belfast and are in the keeping of Mr. Boyd's old Scout Troop alongside his medals.
I confess to curiosity about the ink he used. It certainly has lasted these years. I hope mine will do the same. You can read the BBC article here.
