National Poetry Day

October 4th is National Poetry Day for those lucky enough to live in the UK where it rains. I live in California, the land of perpetual sunshine (a different kind of luck) but being a professed anglophile I thought I would observe this day by sharing a poem by Malcolm Guite called Spell in which he celebrates the magic of language. Malcolm Guite is a poet-priest whom I think of as a John Donne of our day.

For a transcript of Spell please visit his poetry blog simply titled, Malcolm Guite.
