A Word on Letter Writing Courtesy the BBC

I received a letter last week that excited me greatly even to the point of making Mr. Duffy stop what he was doing to listen. A pen friend of mine has been interviewed on BBC 4's "Saturday Live." I need not say much about it as you can listen to it here but I will say that the interview with So-Jin is the most inspiring thing I've heard on the topic of letter writing. The interview starts at about 34 minutes into the program and lasts around 7 minutes. You won't be disappointed!

  1. A touching reminder of just how important a handwritten letter is, for the writer and for the recipient.

There were letters and notes throughout last night's episode of Downton Abbey. I waited anxiously to hear the contents read out loud, as if their words would affect me!

  2. Dear Mrs Duffy,
Thank you for posting this. I heard the lovely interview but it was just too short. I think that S-J had much more to say. I noticed that Rev. Richard Coles was so touched that he had difficulties for a moment catching up immediately after the interview. (Richard Coles played the piano in the 80s group Communards who had a hit with "Don't Leave Me This Way")
