The Love Letter

Valentine's day is coming soon. St. Valentine is a third century saint of whom little is known. In the 14th century his feast day, February 14th, became associated with courtly or romantic love. Jean-Honoré Fragonard painted a lovely picture called "The Love Letter" that can inspire us to write tender affection to our dear ones. Who doesn't like words of tenderness from a loved one whether it be a spouse, grandparent, sibling. Even a Thinking of You Note from a fellow parishioner or a neighbor can lift the spirits  and urge us on to do the same for another.

Who can you write to today? There's enough time for your letter or card to reach its destination by valentines day. USPS even has charming heart stamps available for Valentines Day.
