Turning the Tide

For the first time ever I pre-ordered stamps and they have finally arrived. The two-fold advantage of pre-ordering stamps is being able to enjoy them as soon as possible and, if ordered early enough, when they arrive one can enjoy Christmas-like excitement because the purchase has been forgotten.

Turning the Tide is not the first stamp to commemorate The Great War. The United States Air Mail stamps have an interesting story behind them but history from the stamp's point of view must wait till later. By the way, the red version of United States Air Mail is available for pre-order.
