Mayflower in Plymouth Harbor

USPS is issuing stamp called Mayflower in Plymouth Harbor commemorating the arrival of 102 English passengers at Plymouth in 1620. I love beautiful stamps, especially ones that are paintings honoring historic events. When I visited USPS.com this afternoon I actually gasped when I saw the new stamps. They are just as lovely as The Battle of New Orleans and Repeal of the Stamp Act, 1766 stamps I’ve been saving for special occasions. I’ve never pre-ordered stamps before but without hesitation I put three sheets in my cart and checked out.

Sadly, the photo is a bit fuzzy but these beauties will be issued on September 17th and will be worth the wait. I confess, I am dizzy with excitement. Now for another cup of tea.
